You hate to part with them because they have sentimental value.
These old speakers can be repaired.
If foam rot is the problem, there are repair kits on the market that can be installed on your old woofer, and it will be new again.
Are some of the drivers not working at all, they may have been subjected to clipping, they can be replaced with the original driver, or a new equivalent.
